  2. Our internship program runs for 10 weeks every summer, from June to August. Each year, our available internship positions vary, as each department’s needs fluctuate year over year. In addition to collaborating with various business teams internally, we also team up with some universities each year to find great talent, like you! We’re not able to visit every campus that we’d like to, so we like to change it up each year. Summer 2016 internship applications are now closed, please check back in early 2017 for next summer.

Partner Resources & PRO Americas

In Partner Resources (Human Resources), we’re all about our partners (employees). We are more than 500 partners working in groups such as Staffing, Learning and Development, Total Pay (Comp and Benefits), Organizational Development and Partner Services. Each of us is a strategic partner to the business – no matter if we’re in a generalist or specialist role. Together, we build programs that help our partners around the globe in 66 countries and across our growing portfolio of brands (Starbucks, Evolution Fresh, La Boulange and Teavana) become their personal best. The mission of the Partner Resources organization (PRO) is to inspire and nurture partners to unlock their full potential. We find and develop leaders for the company and the world, serve as advisors and innovators to grow the business, help to create an environment full of positive energy and meaningful development, and help to create connection, ensuring that all voices are heard.

Global Marketing

It’s an exciting time to join the Marketing team. We are a team of over 200 developing the strategy for all customer touch points in a Starbucks® store and in the digital space. This includes campaigns for our products (like a favorite, the Pumpkin Spice Latte) or digital marketing campaigns like social media, promotions, as well as programs like Starbucks Card, CRM, ecommerce and mobile (Digital Ventures). We strive to increase consumer awareness and drive traffic to the stores as well as manage the development and expansion of the Starbucks Card and our loyalty program. The Category Brand Management team’s responsibility is to develop & launch new products and provide tools and resources to effectively manage key business categories (beverage, food, whole bean coffee, merchandise). Global Channel Development

Channel Development connects people around the world to Starbucks where they live, work and play. We have a portfolio of high -quality brands that our teams work to support and are bringing the Starbucks Experience to life in an entrepreneurial and innovative way. We are considered the “sales arm” of the company and are responsible for selling new and existing Starbucks® products into channels outside of our own retail stores. Our Sales and Brand teams work with retailers all over the world to launch our products in places like grocery stores, airlines and school campuses. We even serve Starbucks® coffee at The White House, Disney and Delta Airlines. You’ll have the opportunity to build strategy from the ground up and contribute to one of the fastest growing areas within Starbucks.

Global Strategy

The Global Strategy team’s first priority is to protect, build and grow business from the core. Our goal is to take advantage of market forces and shifts in consumer behavior while looking ahead to anticipate adverse challenges in our operating environment. Our team leads strategy development and coordination, enterprise strategic projects and planning, market research and strategic intelligence. This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading and supporting projects related to Starbucks corporate strategy, business development, or corporate strategic initiatives.

Digital Ventures

The Digital Ventures team drives growth and innovation for Starbucks with industry-leading digital platforms such as the Starbucks Card and mobile payment app, the My Starbucks Rewards® loyalty program, entertainment alliances, groundbreaking digital customer engagement through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as well as Starbucks-owned channels such as,, My Starbucks Idea and Starbucks Digital Network. The Digital Ventures team is responsible for driving the Starbucks brand forward, connecting with customers through a world-class digital experience while delivering profitable growth.

Global Supply Chain Operations, excluding Manufacturing

We work with over 18,000 stores in 63 countries worldwide to ensure that supplies are always available for our baristas and their customers. From coffee to cups to chairs and more—our team manages more than 85,000 outbound deliveries per week to Starbucks® retail stores, distribution channels and outlets worldwide to keep Starbucks® products flowing from suppliers to customers. Needless to say, this is a complex exercise. All of our activities are managed through five functions – Commercialize, Plan, Source, Make, and Deliver. Store Development, US & Americas

Starbucks is known for more than just great coffee, we’re also known for creating an idyllic third place (first place – home, second place - work, third place – Starbucks) where customers feel welcome and at home. Our award-winning Store Development team of over 700 partners (employees) selects store sites, designs interior spaces, and builds your neighborhood store. We are incredibly innovative. One designer was so inspired by the port of Seattle he created a store out of shipping containers. Within our in-house Creative Studio, we can be seen listening along to the coolest new album while designing packaging and promotional materials. We’re proud that we get the opportunity to work on brands like Tazo, Starbucks and La Boulange. Every day we get together for coffee or tea to share ideas and what makes us most proud is going into a local store and seeing our work on a shelf. We get to make an impact every day.


In Finance, you'll have the opportunity to work with our retail operations, consumer products and international businesses. Our team is a key part of continued growth and profitability. We are more than 500 professionals working in fields such as accounting, business unit finance, corporate development, finance services, internal audit, investor relations, tax and customs, treasury and risk management, and safety and security. Americas Retail Support

Everything we do is to support our retail store partners (employees). At the Seattle Support Center (headquarters), our Global Americas and Operations team prioritizes projects and promotions to ensure partners can exceed customer expectations and execute store operations. We manage the process from idea and intake to implementation and communication. In some ways, we are the conduit between our corporate office and our retail stores.

Global Research & Development

We’re a team of 200+ that is responsible for the science behind our great products. There are two main components in this group — Research & Development and Global Quality & Regulatory. We develop new food offerings (like our lunch items), delicious beverages, and innovative brewing equipment. We drive the innovation behind new product ideas, conduct the research and testing of the products, and make adjustments until the product is ready to take to market. We also play a key role in shaping the future growth of Starbucks as we continue to expand into new outlets and countries. The mission of Starbucks Global Research and Development team is to inspire the Starbucks customer quality experience through innovative platforms and products that transform food and beverage. As a member of our team, you will make an impact by ensuring our customers (globally) have a world-class experience with our products.

Public Affairs

Our Public Affairs, Communications and Community team includes our Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Involvement, and Diversity and Inclusion groups. We’re a group of 50 partners (employees) that promote and protect the Starbucks brand reputation (internally and externally) all around the world in many ways. This may include corporate, digital and partner communication and engagement plans or strategic alliances and platforms. Together, we lead the company in conveying one voice to partners, customers, shareholders, media influencers, communities and the public.

Law & Corporate Affairs

Our Legal team works to uphold the highest professional standards in legal service and business ethics. We work in collaboration with business partners to influence change and advance company needs. We work across many disciplines including corporate and securities, commercial, intellectual property, labor and employment, licensing and franchising, and litigation. We also work in real estate, regulatory, government affairs, business ethics and compliance, equal opportunities initiatives, and operations and administration. Law and Corporate affairs is a knowledgeable, proactive partner within the Starbucks global business. We uphold the highest professional standards in legal services and business ethics.
