Partnering with the Seahawks

Coach Pete Carroll surprises a drive-thru customer.

Congratulations to the champions of Super Bowl XLVIII, our Hometown Seattle Seahawks! Starbucks has been proud to be with the team every step of the way on their journey to becoming world champions. Here’s a look back at some of the fun we’ve had together this season.

Starbucks celebrates Blue Friday with Hometown fans

When the Seahawks earned their spot in the playoffs, we showed our Blue Pride along with every other 12 in the city and beyond! Seattle-area Starbucks stores celebrated Blue Fridays during the post-season giving out eye black stickers and wristbands and, on January 17, 2014, offering 12 cent coffee to fans sporting Seahawks colors. Of course, baristas proudly wore blue and green to celebrate! Take a look at some of the fun here.

Starbucks partners with the Seahawks to help youth reach a better future

Starbucks is a proud partner of the Seahawks and A Better Seattle, the community initiative founded by head coach, Pete Carroll. Together with the YMCA’s Alive & Free program, A Better Seattle is giving new opportunities to at-risk youth in our community.

The Starbucks Foundation made a $50,000 grant to A Better Seattle, kicking off a week-long campaign to support the initiative. On October 23, 2013, Coach Carroll and eight Seahawks players visited local stores to try their hand as guest baristas and raise awareness and donations for the cause. Thanks to all of the local customers and Seahawks fans who came out to support this effort. And if you missed the in-store program, you can still donate at www.abetterseattle.com
