Customer Wi-Fi Offer FAQs

Complimentary Offer Questions

What is the offer?
As a way to thank our loyal customers, Starbucks is offering a reward for registering and using your Starbucks Card – complimentary access to AT&T Wi-Fi for up to two hours per day in any U.S. Starbucks store that offers Wi-Fi.

What do I need to get online?
To get your AT&T Wi-Fi account, you simply need a Starbucks Card that you have used in the last 30 days, and agree to receive up to four emails per year from AT&T. As long as you continue to use your card at least once a month (make a purchase or load a balance) you’ll continue to enjoy up to 2 hours per day of complimentary Wi-Fi access in any U.S. Starbucks store which offers Wi-Fi.

Do I need to use my Starbucks Card each time I get online?
No. As long as you’ve used your card in the last 30 days (make a purchase or load a balance), the AT&T username and password you will create as part of the special registration process is all you’ll need each time you visit a Starbucks and want to access Wi-Fi.

Do I need to sign up every time?
You only need to sign up one time, either at home or in the store. Once you’ve registered your card(s) and created your AT&T account, you just log in and you’re online.

Why can’t I register my Starbucks Card Duetto® Visa® card here?
Because of the special nature of the Duetto® card, we ask that you use our starbucks.com registration process prior to signing up for complimentary Wi-Fi. This method provides additional security for your credit card information. Just register your Duetto® card, then come back to complete the signup process. We’ll keep the information you provide so you won’t have to enter it twice.

How do I use Wi-Fi if I don’t want to give you my Starbucks Card information?
There are many paid Wi-Fi plans available from AT&T to suit each person’s need. Go [here] for more information.

Why is this limited to two hours?
In order to make our stores welcoming places for all our customers, the complimentary benefit is limited to two hours. For customers who would like unlimited access, AT&T has a [paid plan] that will work for them.

Can I use my two hours of Wi-Fi at different times of the day?
Currently, you are limited to one session of up to two hours. We’re working on making this available across multiple sessions per day – stay tuned for updates.

Why AT&T Wi-Fi? Why do I need an AT&T account?
In order to provide you the easiest way to get online at any one of our participating U.S. stores, an AT&T Wi-Fi account is the simplest and best way to connect. After you’ve signed up, you’ll have a username and password you can use to log in at any Wi-Fi enabled Starbucks.

Signup Process Questions

Why do I need to accept email from AT&T?
AT&T and Starbucks are offering this great benefit to active Starbucks Card holders. As part of this offer, AT&T would like to let you know about special offers which you might find valuable, once every three months or so.

Why do you need my address?
Starbucks and AT&T both take our customers' privacy very seriously. Your address is required so that AT&T may send you notifications on changes to your AT&T Wi-Fi Service.

I use lots of Starbucks Cards. Is that okay?
While you can always use as many Starbucks Cards as you like, you may only register up to three cards on your starbucks.com account. Using any of these registered cards within the last 30 days (purchase or load a balance) will keep your benefit active. You can always manage your registered cards at starbucks.com.

What does a qualifying card mean? How do I keep this benefit?
Simply use the registered card(s) that’s tied to your account in the last 30 days for purchase or reload, and you’ll continue to enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi service up to two hours each day.

How do I know if I already have a starbucks.com account?
If you need help finding your starbucks.com account, just contact our Customer Care Center at (800) 782-7282. If you know your username, but forgot your password, you can retrieve it during the signup process.

I just made a purchase with my Starbucks Card and I can’t get online?
Although rare, it is possible that very recent transactions won’t show up when we check your card for activity. We apologize for any inconvenience, and ask that you try again another time – don’t worry, the purchase you made will count toward this great reward.

Wi-Fi Questions

Is Wi-Fi free?
While the Wi-Fi offer with AT&T and Starbucks allows up to two hours of complimentary access per day, you must continue to use your registered Starbucks Card to maintain the benefit.

Why do I need two accounts?
After completing this special signup process, you will have both an AT&T Wi-Fi account and a Starbucks.com account. We’ll try to make these accounts as similar as possible, and will only ask you for information one time. You will enjoy all the benefits of having a registered Starbucks Card and starbucks.com account, including balance protection and other great rewards – see starbucks.com/card for more details. The AT&T account you create will be used to access Wi-Fi in our stores. You’ll be able to manage this account with AT&T separately, if you choose.

Can I use my account at other AT&T Wi-Fi locations?
The AT&T Wi-Fi account you create at Starbucks will only be valid at U.S. Starbucks locations which offer Wi-Fi service.

What kind of devices do I need to use Wi-Fi at Starbucks?
Any Wi-Fi (802.11.b/g) enabled device that can use a webpage to login can be used to access Wi-Fi

I am a T-Mobile subscriber, can I still use Wi-Fi at Starbucks?
Yes! T-Mobile Wi-Fi customers can continue to access Starbucks Wi-Fi HotSpots. Just connect to the ‘tmobile’ network as you have in the past to use your T-Mobile credentials to log in.

How do I know if I have an AT&T account?
The easiest way to determine if you have a qualifying AT&T High Speed Internet, U-Verse or Wireless account which includes complementary AT&T Wi-Fi Basic Service is to check your AT&T service bill (either a paper bill or the eBill). Find out more.
