Colombia has a richly deserved reputation for producing great coffee. But we think one region of the country has consistently produced a truly outstanding bean.
It is the mountainous land of Nariño. It was here, 20 years ago, that one of our coffee buyers visited a new mill to sample a lot of large supremo beans (in Colombia, coffee is graded by size). After the cupping, she eagerly pronounced it the best Colombian coffee she’d ever tasted.
What she described in her notes was a clean, well-balanced sip, with a dryness that brings the taste of walnuts to mind. This was something we had to let people know about, so we made arrangements to become the exclusive purveyors of Colombia Nariño Supremo.
Two decades later, we’re still in love with this coffee, as are many of you. We’re delighted to bring it back to our stores as a seasonal offering – available for a limited time, at the peak of its flavor. Enjoy.
