A mercurial spirit with the power to grant wishes, the djinn (in English, we know it as a “genie”) was Aladdin’s greatest discovery and treasure.
A cup of Arabian Mocha Sanani is similarly beguiling. This coffee, grown nearly wild in the Sana’a region of Yemen, comes to us from a proverbial “thousand and one” small farms. Each year’s crop is limited in quantity and unpredictable in its quality; there have been times in the past when we could not or would not offer it.
But when we do have it – when it is at its best – this is an alluring, astonishing coffee. One year, it will amaze us with wine-like berry and floral notes. The next, it will spin tales of deep chocolate and spice on our tongues.
And now the wishes of Sanani fans have once again been answered. This coffee is back in stock as a seasonal offering, available at the peak of its flavor, for a limited time.
