Gold Coast Blend® – Morning Joe Edition
Stout & Refined
A delicious start to your day. Whenever that might be.
This assertive, confident coffee has been delighting its many fans since we first introduced it in 1987. In 2009, it became the coffee that symbolized a relationship between Starbucks and the MSNBC program Morning Joe.
An example of this alliance in action is our support for education through DonorsChoose.org. This nonprofit connects community members with classrooms in their neighborhoods. By highlighting the materials and support those classrooms need, donors can contribute and help make a real impact in their communities.
Meanwhile, the source of this blend’s impact inside the cup is a secret recipe of Latin America, Asia/Pacific and dark roast coffees. The interplay of these very different coffees weaves a deep and densely rich, complex taste, with waves of flavor unfolding as you drink it.
Because of its great depth, this coffee is a fun one to pair foods with. Here are four flavors that can hold their own next to it: tangy cranberry, woodsy maple, buttery-sweet caramel and dense cheesecake.
What is Gold Coast Blend®? It is a bold coffee – yes, that is true. But it is more than that.
It is the place where I experienced the start of my career with Starbucks and a place I have grown to cherish. It is the great city of Chicago!
My best memories of Gold Coast Blend® take me back to my training time in the Gold Coast, one of Chicago’s most unique and exclusive neighborhoods. I spent so much time walking from coffeehouse to coffeehouse, experiencing the welcoming third place between our partners and customers.
