The IT professionals here are doing some pretty amazing, innovative, industry-leading work.

There are more than 650 people at Starbucks providing technology solutions that help our partners work more productively, make our stores run more efficiently and invite our customers to connect more closely.

Here’s a little more information about some of the people you’ll meet here, starting with the video above:

Sang C., a principal enterprise architect, has worked here for more than 13 years. He says, “I came to Starbucks such a long time ago, but even then I could tell it was a company with a great vision, and I got such a good vibe from the team I would be working with.” His favorite coffee is Guatemala Antigua.

Stephen B. says that innovation is what he most enjoys about working at Starbucks. “Whether it’s in business technology, consumer-facing technology, or technology for creative teams like Store Design, I want to be where ideas are taking shape,” he says. He is a business systems manager with a 7-year resume with the company. His favorite Starbucks beverage: a double short soy Caffè Latte.

Curiosity drove Seattle native Annette M. to Starbucks: “I was intrigued by the business model and leadership team – and I wanted to learn more about this company in my own backyard.” That was four years ago, and her curiosity is just as restless. When asked what her passion is, both off and on the clock, she responds enthusiastically: “Challenge!” A double tall, nonfat, no whip Caffè Mocha gets her through the hard times.

Sen W. is a solutions architect and technology enthusiast who chose Starbucks for the “chance to work on cool technologies and platforms such as social media and mobile.” His usual drink is a soy latte, but he admits he’s been recently digging on Starbucks VIA® Flavored Coffee.

And here are some more of the fine folks in Starbucks IT:

Chris N. describes himself as a “problem solver,” so he’s happy to lead a team of functional analysts. He describes the culture here as “respectful, collaborative, professional-yet-friendly and full of opportunity regardless of your job title.” On the weekends, he likes to spend time with his wife, daughter and friends, play soccer and golf, and work on his house. His favorite beverage is a triple grande Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte.

Senior functional analyst Cindy S. says she came to Starbucks because, “I was looking for a company with an energetic atmosphere and an environment that’s open to new ideas and isn't afraid of change.” That spirit of adventure serves her well as she expands our technology presence to international markets. Her beverage of choice: A Double Chocolaty Chip Frapppuccino® blended beverage.

Seujan B. is a QA testing leader who appreciates that quality runs throughout Starbucks. “The service that our customers experience in the stores extends to all the corners of the organization. There is a genuine passion for quality, collaboration and connectedness.” Her own passions include learning – she’s enrolled in an evening MBA program – and ultramarathon trail running. She is another of the many soy latte drinkers in the IT group.
