Finance Partners
The Finance team is a key strategic partner in guiding Starbucks to continued growth and profitability.
There are more than 500 professionals working in the finance group at Starbucks, in fields such as accounting, business unit finance, corporate development, finance services, internal audit, investor relations, tax and customs, treasury and risk management, and safety and security.
Here are some of the people you’ll meet.
Helena C. started with Starbucks as a barista more than 14 years ago. As she met other partners, she was so impressed how they “are so passionate about the company” that she chose to make her career here. She now serves as finance director. She can often be found drinking a tall soy, light-foam Tazo® Chai Tea Latte.
Financial reporting manager and new partner Josh G. says he came here because, “I was looking for an opportunity to expand my experience in a company that provided multiple avenues for growth while balancing the demands of my personal life” – including his son. His favorite beverage is a tall Caffè Americano.
Melanie C., our director of capital markets, came to Starbucks because she wanted to work at a place that values and builds community. She also values her work in peer development and mentoring initiatives. Her drink is a tall Skinny Vanilla Latte.
Chief financial officer Troy A. has been with Starbucks for nearly 20 years. He says he joined us because “I loved the coffee and the stores, and was excited to be part of a company with strong values and an opportunity to have a huge impact on the world – on coffee farmers, on our Starbucks partners, on our customers and neighborhoods. These same things make me excited to continue to be part of Starbucks today.” His drink is Brewed Coffee, black.
And here are some more of our movers and shakers in the finance department.
Nichole S. is a financial analyst who loves the positive work environment she finds here. As she travels to the company’s international markets, she says she is fascinated by the way Starbucks is able to maintain its core values while adapting to local cultural differences. Her own favorite cultural beverage is a tall soy no-water Tazo® Chai Tea Latte prepared exactly at 180 degrees.
Ernesto E. says he came to Starbucks “looking for a place where I could see myself grow and be happy while doing it.” He’s definitely found his place: he started just over three years as an accountant in our international accounting group. After two years, he was promoted to senior accountant; a year after that he was selected for an opportunity as a senior cost analyst. His favorite beverage is a White Chocolate Mocha.
Amy C. is our director of master data integrity. Her two favorite memories of working at Starbucks include an international project involving the 35+ countries where we do business (and travel to Amsterdam and Hong Kong) and a service project with six fellow partners to help rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Her favorite beverage is a Skinny Caramel Latte.
