Three Reasons Why I Love Bistro Boxes

I’ll admit it – it’s seriously hard to make good food choices when you’re busy. It always feels like I have to make a tough choice: will it be quick or will I feel good? And since I am already making admissions … sometimes I choose the wrong one. You know the wrong choice (we’ve all made them!), where you sacrifice speed for something that resembles food.

Our newest additions, Bistro Boxes, finally make these choices easy. Now you can enjoy fast, delicious wholesome food with whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. And the super-cute box makes it easy to take wherever you are off to – your next meeting, in the car or hopefully the beach!

When you can recognize the food you’re eating its easy to know you’ve made a good choice, but you can also feel good about the fact we’ve crafted all Bistro Boxes to be less than 500 calories.

My new favorite go-to lunch is the Chicken Chipotle Wrap with whole wheat tortillas, white chicken breast and a crunchy lime-cilantro slaw that you can top with zesty pepper jack cheese and a tomato-avocado salsa.

Here are three reasons why I love it so much:

  1. It’s full of flavor and has 26g of hunger-blasting protein!
  2. It’s only 380 calories, and that includes dessert with a perfectly portioned piece of yummy dark chocolate.
  3. Even with my favorite drink, a tall Tazo® Shaken Iced Passion Tea Lemonade, lunch is only 480 calories.

Erin, I just enjoyed the Chicken Chipotle Wrap and I have to agree, it was the perfect lunch! I do have to say though, if its intended to be an on-the-go option, it should come with on-the-go tools, like a fork and napkin. I used the individual lids to scoop out the slaw and salsa as I was building the wraps, effective but not ideal. And lets face it, wraps are messy! Also, I think it should come with a choice of mini.

Hi @sstrain79, glad you enjoyed! You should have received the proper on-the-go tools, but as they are even new to us we're still trying to get it right. Thanks for the suggestion!

i have a comment important to me.
i am starbucks addict . love it very much and have it almost 365 days a year.
however, recently i started on weight watcher program and want to comply.
so, i run into the problem. my lovely grande pike place with 4 pumps of raspberry syrup with little of half and half and pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg became off limits due to the large content of sugar in raspbery syrup. raspbery syrup not sugar free. how come? can you offer sugar free version? thank u Tatyana

I loved the previous food plates that Starbucks offered and now I am really excited about the new bistro boxes with the additional meal choices. As my friends will attest, this is my "fast food" go-to option when my son and I are out and about and having fun!

I purchased the previous versions of the bistro boxes on a regular basis. The chicken/hummus was a great quick meal. This new version is not good. The chicken is simply sliced chicken deli meat and not the breast strips of the previous box. And at the same price! I expressed my concerns with some employees at two locations and they agreed with me.

I love the Bistros! I don't get utensils either, but I use the box for lunch so we have plastic utensils here. I did not like the crackers that come with the cheese snack box though, they were brittle. The other longer crackers were better. I haven't tried the lettuce & chicken box yet, although I ordered it this morning (I order my lunch in the a.m.) they gave me the chipotle instead. I'll have to make sure to check the bag next time. Anyway, kudos to Starbucks! Love it!

I'm excited to see the Bistro Box's arrival, I love the food plates already. The crackers held up surprisingly well to my tuna salad last week, I too thought they were thin. But it worked. I'd be curious to see the labels sent through the NuVal algorithm, and compare them then.

Glad to see the nutrition facts for Bistro Boxes added to the website, will the fruit & snack plate facts come back? I did find a typo on the site: Salami & Cheese is spelled "Salumi." Just wanted to pass the word!

    The bistro boxes are great!!

But there are a few things to address:
    1) Flatware (mini spoon and fork, perhaps) should be included
    2) The packaging for the chopped peanuts (chicken lettuce wraps) and sesame peanuts (sesame noodle salad) should be easier to open. It's not currently perforated in a way to make it easy to open on the go. Scissors are needed to cut them open.

Otherwise, they're easy for on the go meals.

Can you tell me when the bistro boxes will be available in Farmington, New Mexico. It seems to take a while for anything to make it to the Starbucks store here. It would be great to have an estimated date, so i don't have to call and ask all the time.

Thank you! I am sure I'm not the only one here who would love to pair a favorite drink with a bistro box - I often find some other food option but would prefer Starbucks over anything else!

Im a barista for Starbucks and I have to say that I LOVE the chipolte chicken Castro box, but agree that it needs utensils. The noodle box should come with chopsticks! For those of you failing to find bistro boxes in your local stores, ask your barista. Not all locations offer lunch, with three tiers of "lunch stores." Lower tiers only receive some options, and more rural stores get them less often. My store only gets 1 shipment /week, so we only have lunch for the products' two day shelf life.

Just tried the protein bistro box. Kudos Starbucks, I enjoyed it very much. I thought the price was fair and the items included were good. The packaging was eco-friendly, nice touch. Keep up the great work!

I absolutely LOVE every bistro box I've tried. I've had them all but the salami and cheese, and I have to say, Sesame Noodles and the Chicken lettuce wraps are amazing. I think the dark chocolate is a real treat to those who are very conscious of their sugar intake. The chicken is cut a bit too thin, compared to the large pieces we're used to seeing in the old chicken hummus plate. I also think the Sesame Noodle could get better packaging. It doesnt travel too well, but bistro boxes are great!

I love the Sesame Noodles bistro box--so happy to see another vegetarian option! However, I'd love it more if it were "greener"; there's so much packaging, with several plastic containers inside of the larger container.
    Thanks for listening....

I was previously a fan of the fruit and cheese snack available, but now that it has become a bistro box, the grapes have switched to dried cranberries, and I'm just not a fan of that. The grapes were such a nice touch!

The Chipotle Chicken and the Lettuce Wraps are awesome, I usually just take all the ingredients and put them in a bowl and eat it as a salad.

Do you know what the nutrition information is for the Whole Wheat Tortillas?

Today I had the opportunity to try the Chicken & Hummus bistro box and I must admit, I am totally hooked. I really enjoyed everything in my box. The wheat pita was soft and fresh. The hummas had a good consistency. The chicken was super moist and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I hope starbucks keeps up the quality and actually provides this convenience at every single location. I would like to see disposable utensils inside my box for added convenience.

I am such a die hard of Starbucks. But I haven't seen these Bistro Boxes or Sandwiches offered anywhere in Albuquerque, NM. I hope it comes soon. We're sometimes behind on these things. My suggestion would be to have a link where we can enter in our zip code and it will find the closest Starbucks with the Bistro boxes. I know you have the option of searching for one with oven-warmed and such, but you should add this too :) I am so excited for the day to come when the lunches come to town! <3

I love my Starbucks! Here in Summerville, SC outside of Charleston, we don't have any of these Bisro Boxes but it would be a very welcome addition. I hate having to go elsewhere for a light lunch when I could be sitting at Starbucks with a Venti Iced Coffee and a "Bistro Box". Any idea when we will be getting the Bistro Boxes in South Carolina?

I wish our Starbucks store would get the full menu of boxes. We only have a couple options. I LOVE EM! Alot of times in the afternoons they are sold out though. We need a bigger shipment. :)

I have been a big fan of Sbux snacks for years. I am so very disappointed with these new bistro boxes for one reason: Environmental impact. The old boxes were 50% compostable materials and required no fork. Now I need a plastic-wrapped fork every time, plus the not-compostable box is significantly larger and has more internal plastic than the original. While I absolutely LOVE the new food (does need more hummus), this is irresponsible pkg from a self-proclaimed environmentally-thoughtful org.

I think this is a great idea, especially for those of us in college. (There is one in the Mohawk Fennel campus in Ontario)

As a student, I find it hard to keep lunches lasting until it's time to eat them and the food choices in the cafeteria is just way too expensive and sometimes gross.

With this I have a choice and MUCH healthier then the alternatives.
    Thanks!

I love the bistro boxes - especially the protein one - I eat it multiple times per week for breakfast. I wish there were more options, though. I'm allergic to sesame, so there are 3 out of the 5 options that I can't have.

Still waiting for Bistro Boxes in Saint Charles, MO! Would love to try a few. I applaud the idea of healthy vegetarian choices, but where can I sample one - how far away is the nearest Starbucks that sells Bistro Boxes?

I love the direction Starbucks is headed in with low fat, low calorie, high grain, fresh choices!

It would be great if you could include LOWER SODIUM into the menu. Noticed that many of your meals are close to 40% of the daily value which, if you're truly committed to promoting healthly lifestyle, is as much of a concern as fat, cholesterol and sugar. And hopefully you can address this without increasing the preservatives...?

Love the lettuce wraps, but would be nice to have more lettuce. The first one I purchased had two leaves of lettuce, which was okay but three would've been better. The 2nd box I purchased had one large leaf and two tiny pieces of lettuce. It seemed more like the lettuce was laid in the box as a garnish, rather than for wrapping the fillings. Since lettuce is a the primary ingredient in lettuce wraps and lettuce isn't expensive, an adequate amount of lettuce should be included.

I just had my first Bistro box, and I am totally revolted.

Not only was the sliced chicken bone dry and overly salty, the wraps were stale, tearing at the folds when I tried to wrap them around the chicken and the condiments. The cheese was beyond spicy, as was the tomato salsa. Definitely not what I wanted or was expecting. Eating it was a disaster - because the wraps were stale, it was impossible to fold them so I could eat without the food falling on me.

    Will not buy again.

I was excited about these bistro boxes and was one of the "winners" for the bistro boxes sweepstakes. I live in Buffalo, NY and found that *none* of the Western New York Starbucks carry these. When I called the 800 number for Starbucks to ask which locations (anywhere) carried these - the customer service representative said she had no way to tell me which Starbucks carried bistro boxes. I am left with my "prize" for 2 Bistro Boxes and 2 Grande Drinks that will just expire. I am disappointed!

Hello. I'm really interested in the bistro boxes as well, particularly since I'd like to eat a bit healthier and I'm a college student. Can you please give the bistro boxes to the stores in Ohio? That'd be great! Every store I've gone to doesn't have them. Thanks!

I am Lactose Intolerant and can't have Dairy. I asked what pastries are made
without milk in two facilities, one In Murrietta, Ca. and one in Temecula, Ca.
Unfortunately, I could not get any answers. Anyway you can provide the info?
I'd appreciate your help. Possibly a menu of Lactose Free items would help as
    some restaurants provide.
