130 calories.. you've gotta be kidding me. I want a holiday drink with MUCH less.. like 50 or so. Thanks.

Drink water and put a splash of syrup in it! Seriously though, the 100 (tall) or 130 (grande) calories are basically all in the milk. Bring your own unsweetened almond milk to any Starbucks and they'll be happy to make you a drink with it - that's basically the only way to cut a drink down to about 50.

Here's an idea: Starbucks should jump on the bandwagon and start offering almond milk! It tastes better than soy milk and is a great option for people who are lactose-intolerant, vegan, or watching their weight. I would be happy to pay extra per drink to have this option. :)

I totally agree with the Almond Milk. And make it ORIGINAL...not Vanila flavored...the ORIGINAL is not as sweet and those of us who don't care for the vanilla will be delighted. I now get the Soy which is Vanilla flavored but would much prefer (if you do not add Almond Milk) that you get ORIGINAL Soy - not Vanilla. :-)

130 calories might sound like it is high, but if you are really interested in losing weight remember that the sugar, or carbohydrates are more important. So, low carb or no sugar means quite a bit of savings. And, nowdays the taste is every bit as good as sugared drinks!

I have to agree with many others. As a diabetic the skinny late features are my only treat. I would love to see skinny pumpkin spice, salted caramel, and yes keep the moca all year round. I will be in the store this weekend and will be trying the pepermint moca treat. I am excited for this.

I will also share a secret. If you have pancakes for breakfast try putting **** on them then pouring the sugar free cinimon dolce syrup on them it is way better than sugar free maple syrup.

Although I would much prefer the regular stuff, my waistline does not! It's a really good alternative! It would be great if you would keep the SF Mocha all year round. Now please work on a skinny salted caramel, I know there's SF Toffee Nut syrup and now that you have the SF Choc it should be a piece of cake!

I'm sipping my Skinny Peppermint Mocha right now, and it is wonderful! Thanks so much for opening up a more "decadent" option than my usual plain non-fat latte when I want to treat myself to some extra flavor... but no extra sugar!

Reading the reviews, I had high hopes for the new Skinny, but I found it to have a *****, chemical aftertaste. Since the bogo promo is on, I bought a Skinny and a Nonfat Peppermint Mocha. There is just no comparison. I know that those of us who need to watch our sugar intake would benefit from the Skinny. And looking at the nutritional info, it seems the peppermint adds a good % of the calories. So, I will forgo the peppermint and have a nonfat Mocha while sucking a peppermint Lifesaver.

This is sooooo exciting! I'm a HUGE fan of the peppermint syrup, and mochas, but I haven't had either one since trying to maintain a healthy weight. Now I don't have to spend more time on the treadmill making up for a treat! I can have this without feeling guilty, and that's a great feeling! I hope you keep these sugar free options all year round. The peppermint syrup in brewed coffee or americano's is so good any time of year! I would also love to have a mocha when I'm craving some chocolate!

I love having another skinny option! I would love to see more like the pumpkin spice and gingerbread in a skinny version too. As a Weight Watcher member, the skinny options on your menu allow me my daily indulgence without using up too many points in the morning. It gets boring after awhile always getting a skinny vanilla or skinny caramel. I agree with the others -- leave the skinny mocha sauce on the menu year round!

I thought the skinny peppermint mocha was pretty good .....but I would love a skinny version of the white mocha MORE! I agree there is a bit of a chemical taste to the mocha, not sure if it is the SF peppermint or the SF mocha syrup. Over all I feel it is a good option for those of us who watch the calorie intake. :)

Where can I find the ingredients for the sugar-free products? I get terrible headaches from aspartame, so it would be great if these have sucralose or stevia. Thanks!!!

      • 11/23/2011 8:38 AM

      In reply to: dee4077

The sugar-free peppermint and skinny mocha are a sucralose based sugar substitute. All of our sugar free syrups are actually, including the "light syrup base" for our "light" frappuccinos. :)

        • 12/13/2011 8:32 AM

        In reply to: melvista

Actually the Light Frappuccino base is made with rebiana (a.k.a. stevia)...so technically Light Frappuccinos contain zero artificial sweeteners.

Are there plans to introduce more sugar free holiday drinks? I would love to see the White Mocha, Carmel Brulee, or Pumpkin Spice be offered in a skinny option. The holidays are full of other indulgences, I would prefer my Starbucks not to have to be filtered into that equation with fatty drinks.

ohhh pumpkin spice especially! Now I order it with half the pumps of syrup and it's still pretty good... but it's still a lot more calories than it would be with sugarfree syrup. Good good idea!

I only have tried the skinny version one time so probably isn't enough to pass judgment on it. However, I emptied the last 1/4 cup out and found the drink had not been mixed enough. I will give it another try, hopefully with better results.

The skinny peppermint latte is absolutely delicious. A couple of times there was way too much foam, but the server happily offered t0 made it over with less. Now I mention just a little foam when I order. Love Starbucks! By the way, the green iced tea with a packet of honey is to die for (and very healthy)!

Gross!! The salesperson at the counter convinced me to try the new skinny peppermint mocha. After paying nearly $4 for it, I almost sprayed it all over the floor! It was absolutely disgusting. NOT drinkable. I had been a little excited to try it becasue my son had tried a regular peppermint mocha and liked it so much that he ordered a second one in the same day. He tried my skinny peppermint, and he said,"No, that is horrible!" The counter person ignored me. I havent been back.

I really like the skinny peppermint mocha latte. It fits in perfectly with my fitness plan, and it tastes great. Only complaint: it's never hot enough, only warm in temperature when it's served. I will still continue to order it, though.

I could KISS you guys!!!! I tried the skinny peppermint mocha yesterday and loved it! I've been on WW for over a year, and in Nov 2010 I was about to switch from my Starbucks summer drink - NF Iced Mocha, to my winter drink - DT NF Peppermint Mocha, when I sadly realized how many calories I was consuming and reluctantly switched to the Skinny Vanilla Latte. Its not bad, but I missed my Peppermint Mocha! Now I can enjoy it once again!! Thank you for continuing to offer healthier options!!!!

I enjoy this drink, but prefer it with soy milk. Every time I order it this way, the barista looks confused and I end up with a drink that I suspect is not exactly what I wanted. Today I ended up with a drink that I'm fairly certain had the sugar free peppermint syrup but the regular mocha sauce, which defeats the point. What is the right way to order this so that I get what I want?

I was thrilled to try the skinny peppermint mocha. I loved it at first but as the drink cooled slightly I did notice a bit of an aftertaste. The drink should have been hotter. Please try to refine this drink if possible. I will still have it but I think it could be a bit better. Please offer other skinny options. I would then be able to indulge more often.

Definitely not a fan of the skinny peppermint mocha due to the chemical aftertaste. I prefer just cutting the pumps in half on the regular pm (made with skim).

    • threeltlbirds
    • 12/10/2011 4:25 PM

Ahhh, I LOVE this. I'm so thrilled you have it! The more sugarfree syrups you guys offer, the better. I very very rarely get the holiday drinks because of the calories, but with sugarfree syrups it cuts down insanely. I'm so so happy about this! I'm actually drinking one right now. I agree that there is a bit of an aftertaste but I would much rather have a 130 calorie drink with an aftertaste than stare longingly at the people drinking a 500 calorie peppermint mocha. Thank you!

I drink Peppermint Mochas year round. It is just my favorite drink , so naturally I was excited when they came out with a Skinny version. This is the absolute worst coffee drink I have EVER had! I did give it three tries.....just in case I was wrong. I will definately stick to the real stuff, but to cut calories I have the baristas reduce the amount of pumps that go in to my drink. Nice try Starbucks.....but I have to give it a "Fail" on this one.

I ordered a Skinny Peppermint Mocha, thinking that "Skinny" only applied to the type of milk that was used to make my drink. I have an aversion to any and all artificial sweeteners and was very disappointed to be miles away before I realized my drink was made with a sugar-free sweetener (yuck!) What is the Sbux lingo when ordering non-fat milk but wanting everything else in your drink to stay the same? Baristas assume any request for non-fat milk = desire for sugar-free syrups as well. NOT!

Love the Skinny Peppermint Mocha..can't have sugar so this is great for diabetics and post-bariatric surgery people. Please make sure all outlets have this available..including the sugar free peppermint syrup. Have had some trouble getting it at Fred Meyer & Safeway. Also, adding whey protein ups the protein content and makes it creamy without whipped cream...thumbs up!!

I LOVE the new Skinny Peppermint Mocha!!!!! I know other stores offer a similar beverage, but not in the skinny version. That is just one more reason that keeps me and others coming back to Starbucks. I have lost a lot of weight so I have to watch what I eat and drink, so this is perfect...superb taste without having to add the extra calories. I hope this one will stick around even through the year. Thank you so much for allowing this to be a part of my holiday memories.
