Let’s Merry!

Starbucks Cup Magic App

Okay, I’ll admit it; I love this time of year. The first snowfall, Christmas trees tied to car roofs, Santas ringing bells on the sidewalk – they’re all signs that the holidays are on the way. At Starbucks, the season is marked by the arrival of our red cups filled with delicious holiday beverages.

With all the commotion in our lives these days, it’s important to take a moment to pause and recognize what we truly have and love, and to celebrate the things that mean the most to us. Whether it’s catching up with an old friend over a cup of coffee, finding that perfect gift for under the tree or discovering a new holiday tradition, let’s merry!

For our part, we’re excited to give you a fun, new way to bring the season to life with our latest mobile app for the iPhone and Android. Use the Starbucks Cup Magic app to scan our signature red cups, Christmas Blend coffee bags and signage in our stores, and watch our cast of holiday characters come alive. They’re here to spread some much-needed cheer in the digital age.

But the festivities don’t end there. We’ve also added some fun stuff to the site, like an eCard builder that lets you create free holiday cards to send instantly to your friends and family, and a virtual holiday destination where you can learn about our holiday deals and gifts. Meanwhile, I’ll be trimming the tree and admiring all the colored lights around the city.

It would be great if the iphone apps were useable with the voice over function built into the operating system for us in the blind community. This app and the regular Starbucks app is not accessible using voice over. Being blind I was so excited that finally a phone that we blind people could use and be included in this techno revolution. But sadly once again after being given a taste of the apple the app vendors shun accessiblity once again pushing us into second class citizens.

Android is a total theft of intellectual property from Apple. You poor Android users who are whining because you feel "entitled" to an app and call those of us who pay for the real product elitists. You are people taking advantage of receiving stolen property, intellectual property is just as real as any other creation. I see that in fact Starbucks has given you a link to an Android app, but with the appropriate caveat that this piece of stolen property works differently on different hardware.

On the app store people said that they got a $25 gift card after finding all 5 of the characters, but when i found them all i didnt receive any gift. Is there any reason why i didnt received a gift?
