Free, One-Click Wi-Fi is Coming

June 14, 2010 – At Starbucks, we love to give you more of what you’ve asked for. So soon you’ll be able to enjoy Wi-Fi at Starbucks in a way that goes beyond what we currently offer.

Starting July 1, you’ll be able to enjoy free, one-click, unlimited Wi-Fi at all company-operated Starbucks stores in the United States. What does that mean? It means:

  • Free – no Starbucks Card required
  • One-Click – no username or password needed
  • Unlimited – no 2-hour restriction

Just visit your neighborhood Starbucks, open your browser or mobile device and click to connect. It’s our way of providing you with a great digital experience to go with your cup of coffee.

And free Wi-Fi is just a start. At the Wired Business Conference today, Howard Schultz announced a new digital experience we’ll be launching at Starbucks stores across the country later this fall – the Starbucks Digital Network – created in partnership with Yahoo!

The Starbucks Digital Network will offer you free access to exclusive content, community news and local volunteer opportunities on your laptop, tablet or smart phone. And it will only be available in our stores

We’ve teamed up with Yahoo! and a growing list of premium content partners, including the Wall Street Journal, Apple and Zagat, to enrich your coffeehouse experience with interesting news and entertainment cultivated for you.

So visit your local Starbucks this July to enjoy free Wi-Fi and look out this fall for the Starbucks Digital Network.
