As Heard on TV
By now you may well have come across a merry, little Starbucks commercial set in an urban park, where kites shaped like snowflakes dot the sky. The soundtrack to the spot comes from the indie-pop band matt pond PA.
“Snow Day” is the opening track from the group’s 2005 EP Winter Songs, a collection of seven originals and covers inspired by those days when the sun sets early and the sweaters come out. It’s a lovely, cozy set well worth checking out, particularly if you’ve fallen under the spell of those mesmerizing kites in the commercial.

Dean Jordan is the name of the guy who built our hero kites, each one unique like real snowflakes, and along with a team flew at the shoot. Some more information on him, and his website: www.jordanairkites.com.
Yes the main kites you see in the commercial are custom made by Blake Pelton a killer kite designer. Then a bunch of the kites where mass produced by a company that makes kites in China. I was told soon you will be able to get the kites at www.snowflakekites.com
Actually, Blake, who of course is a killer designer, only made two of the kites. I know, because I hired him to make them. Mike Dennis and Pam Kirk made two, and I made two. The rest we special ordered. dean jordan
I saw the kites for sale on a couple of sites. I got some from here. http://www.snowflakekites.com
