I have a great job. I was in Kona, Hawaii, recently, where I got to see the passion and pride that farmers bring to the coffee they grow there. They are resourceful, creative, adventurous, and completely committed to their farms, their mills and their craft.

      Hi Jaime1106, Kona WAS available on starbucksstore.com, but it's so popular that it sold out even before Kona was available in stores.     The Kona makes a fantastic cup of coffee. It's strong, smooth and delicious. I shared the first brew w/friends at a small group bible study. They had been used to drinking a generic Kona blend from local stores. They immediately recognized the difference with the Starbucks Reserves. It's the real deal.

    Kona is my favorite coffee from Starbucks. 100% Kona is hard to find and expensive even if you visit Starbucks stores on the Hawaiian islands. I saw this just a few days ago and ordered a bag. Unbelievable that it's sold out already. Too bad Kona can't expand it's coffee fields to produce more. The demand is sure there.

    We Kona coffee farmers are sure happy about Starbucks support for our product. There's enough Kona for everybody, but don't blame us for the high price! It's all hand labor and affordable workers are hard to find in Hawaii (mostly because of high housing and living costs). The hills are steep, rocky, and not suited for machinery, yet for coffee its ideal. The profit margins for the farmers are slim, and if we don't do most ourself, there's no money in it. Yet we love it and the beans show it!

    As a partner I've been begging for Starbucks to carry the Kona coffee in stores. I ordered it (via Clover) and it's amazing. I'm glad Starbucks was able to roast it in a way that kept Kona's smooth feel.
    I agree with Bluehorsekona that costs are high because of the unique terrain, but the coffee is so worth it. If Starbucks ever does a "Kona Peaberry Roast", I'm all over it. I wrote a review:

    My local Starbucks barista recommended I try their Kona they got via Clover. I was a bit skeptical at first because he said "it feels like you're kind of in Hawaii when you drink it" (a bit far fetched) but I was so delighted at my first sip! It was smooth, well bodied, and slightly sweet and just nutty enough. By far my favorite blend of coffee at Starbucks.

    I enjoyed Starbucks blends for a long time. Now there is a problem with acid . What is the blend with the least amount of acid?

    Ohhh kona huh? I was just talking to someone today about Goog Kona and how hard it is to find and ussually 2 darned expensive so i can't Wait to try when u get it back!;-) would Love if my local shop wold brew in or do a PourOver for me!

    According to market values ,real Kona is at approx.: $35 or so per pound ,so is Jamaican Blue.........

    Though I've never seen Kona available at any Starbucks I've been to yet ,especially at the bar ready brewed ,most coffee shops always offer French ,Kona ,etc. when in season along with flavor of the day/week ,house blend,etc.....?
