Starbucks Ultimate Park Makeover With the help of nearly 700 Starbucks partners and members of the community volunteering a combined 2500 hours, Powell Barnett Park in Seattle's Central District (352 Martin Luther King Jr. Way) underwent an extensive seven-day renovation from May 12-18.

The revitalized park now features a newly designed playground, an improved play meadow, updated restroom facilities and landscaping additions.

This week long makeover was made possible by a $550,000 gift from the Starbucks Parks Fund. In addition, $240,000 was provided by the city of Seattle, as well in-kind donations from Kompan, Inc., JB Instant Lawn, Inc., The Sonics and Storm Foundation, LEAJACK Construction, ILIAD, Inc., KM Electric, Inc., Turnstone, Inc., and Grand Event Rentals. We’d also like to extend a special thank you to the Seattle Parks Department for managing this exciting project.
