Legend has it that Dulce de Leche originated in Argentina when the maid of 19th century Argentine politician Juan Manuel de Rosas left lechada, a drink of milk and sugar, boiling on the stove when she went to answer the door. She returned to find it had become brown jam—or dulce de leche.

As a child in Venezuela, I ate my grandmother’s homemade dulce de leche after breakfast—and sometimes right from the pot. Now you can enjoy it as a Dulce de Leche Latte or Frappuccino® blended coffee.
