Green Art By Green-Thinking Celebs To benefit Global Green USA, some of your favorite celebrities are designing, painting and transforming Starbucks umbrellas into original works of art based on the theme “Be Green This Summer.”

Bid On An Umbrella Beginning May 21, the umbrellas are being auctioned to the public with winning bid amounts benefiting Global Green USA, an organization working to stem climate change. Chad Lowe currently appears in the role of Reed Pollock on FOX’s hit drama 24.Lance Bass is a former member of the band *NSYNC and is a member of the Environmental Media Association.

After seeing a Starbucks ad in The New York Times that advocated the use of energy-saving compact florescent light (CFL) bulbs, Avery Hairston and some friends founded RelightNY. The group hopes to raise environmental awareness by supplying CFL bulbs to residents in lower-income housing.

Dave Price / CBS’s The Early Show
Dave Price has been the weather anchor and a feature reporter for CBS News’ The Early Show since July 2003. In addition to in-studio forecasts and reports, Price can be seen entertaining crowds live on the plaza outside the CBS studios.
