young social entrepreneurs We believe that young people can change the world. They have the passion and insight to assess the unique needs of their communities and to create meaningful change. When they do, we will be there to support them.

This program helps young social entrepreneurs improve communities around the world through new ideas, volunteerism and civic action.

The Foundation made signature grants to Youth Venture and to the International Youth Foundation.

Youth Venture
The Foundation is supporting Youth Venture’s mission to build a global movement of young people by funding a cross-country tour called Dream It. Do It. The tour will travel in early 2008 to 13 U.S. cities, where it will hold workshops at schools and public venues to inspire young people, giving them tools to start their social ventures and opportunities to apply for up to $1,000 in support. International Youth Foundation (IYF) prepares young people to be healthy, productive and engaged citizens. IYF and the Starbucks Foundation have established the Starbucks Innovation Fund to extend projects created by IYF’s YouthActionNet® Global Fellows. In 2008, the fund will help to support up to 25 youth-led initiatives around the world. (www.youthactionnet.org)
